AIP June 27 2010 Red Man Hall SCC meeting outsider report

Everyone:

First, the facts of today as I saw them:

I telephoned the American Independent Party (AIP) cellular telephone number (707-761-3007) this morning around 8:00 AM and spoke with Mary Robinson. Markham was driving them to Red Man Hall, 5501 Sky Parkway, Sacramento. I asked Mary to convey a message to Markham that Jerry Leidecker and myself would like to participate in the 2010 State Central Committee organizational meeting to be held there today, and asked if Markham could please help us obtain appointments and/or proxies. Markham's response was no.

Mark and Mary, Patrick Colglazier, Jerry, and myself arrived at the hall around 9:00 AM. Markham indicated that he could not speak to me due to a letter written by Bill Lussenheide, sent to Markham, and signed by Bill, myself, and others, because it was "ex parte communication" with respect to the King-Robinson lawsuit. He indicated that I would need to speak to Mark Seidenberg.

Jerry and I remained on the sidewalk. Other attendees continued to arrive, including Mark, Larry Beliz, Phelps Hobart, Frederick Quien, Nathan Sorensen, and others. For those who would speak to Jerry and/or myself, we politely expressed our desire to participate in the meeting today and requested their help in obtaining appointments and/or proxies. Phelps volunteered to make a request to allow us to at least sit and watch (Markham had granted such to a few people yesterday, including John Rakus).

Apparently, an Executive Committee meeting began around 9:30 AM.

Mark came out and we discussed the letter from Bill. I remembered Bill sending me a draft, but did not recall giving permission to include my name. Mark went inside and was able to obtain a copy. He came back out and we looked at the letter. My name did not appear, but Jerry's did.

I assume the SCC meeting began around 10:00 AM.

Mark came back outside to give me Mary Robinson's cellular telephone number and obtain my cellular telephone number. Mark instructed me that Mary would telephone me when I would be given the opportunity to enter the hall and make my request.

Some time later, Mark came back outside and indicated that neither myself nor Jerry would be allowed into the meeting, but that all the AIP nominees from the June 8, 2010, Primary Election would be made members of the SCC upon certification of the election by the California Secretary of State. We will be invited to the next SCC meeting after certification. Meetings will be held approximately monthly via the Internet (text) and telephone (voice).

Jerry and I left around 11:15 AM.

Second, my commentary:

Again, I am proud of all the people who made the effort to attend the events of today. :-)

I apologize if I appeared condescending in my post of yesterday [ http://constitutionpartyca.org/node/740 ] towards those AIP nominees who did not attend the events of this weekend. I experienced only a small fraction of the expense and inconvenience that people coming from long distances would have experienced, especially if they would have been denied entry. It is better that I thank those who were able to make it.

Jerry reminded me that he is actually an AIP old-timer who recently became active again. Jerry was active in the party in the 1980's and 1990's, and served as AIP Sacramento CCC Vice-Chairperson.

Nathan, Jerry, and myself had a very productive conversation. Nathan is supportive of an "inclusive" philosophy. I have since learned that Nathan was elected the next AIP SCC Chairperson today, and will take office in September. Congratulations, Nathan!

Sincerely yours,

David Christensen
